From Sugar Loaf Mountain to spectacular waterfalls and the mysterious Amazon rainforest. Here’s our snapshot of Brazil.
Brazil is enormous, sprawling across half of South America. The country seduces visitors with sun-kissed beaches, spectacular landscapes, the mystifying Amazon rainforest and buzzing cities bursting with carnival spirit.
In Rio de Janeiro, you can chill out on Copacabana beach, take a cable car ride up Sugar Loaf Mountain and stand under the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer, his arms outstretched as he looks over the city. Immerse yourself in the carnival atmosphere with an energetic samba lesson – the pulsating rhythm will get you in the mood for exciting nights out.
South of Rio is the village of Itacuruçá, with its simple fishing houses and saveiros – boats that look like schooners. You can glide along a beautiful bay in a saveiro, spotting dolphins, kingfishers, and turtles. Head west to the Argentine border where you’ll discover Iguaçu, 275 waterfalls plunging into the river below. The sight of these thundering falls is magical.
The Amazon rainforest covers about 40 per cent of Brazil and is home to astounding wildlife. If you’re a true adventurer, we can take you on treks, canoeing expeditions and visits to local communities in the rainforest. For exotic wildlife lovers, there’s also the Pantanal region, the world’s largest wetland. During our escorted tour, look for hyacinth macaws, huge anacondas and giant anteaters. This will be an unforgettable experience.
