HOT NEWS:
My Botswana

Bruce Ochse, lodge manager of Sandibe Safari Lodge in the Okavango Delta, inspires us to visit beautiful Botswana

I joined CCAfrica as a trainee ranger and spent over eight unforgettable years guiding before taking up the position of lodge manager of Sandibe Safari Lodge in the Okavango Delta.

Botswana has always been a magical place for people who love the bush - unfenced wilderness areas allowing animals to roam, the rise and fall of the annual floods in the Okavango Delta, and the interesting changes in animal movements that so closely match the movement of the waters.

Saving Botswana's Waterways

Botswana's birdlife is incredible, the high profile game viewing is remarkable - there are elephants everywhere - and there are an abundance of smaller creatures and unique plants to keep the most avid naturalist fully absorbed.

I am proud of the fact that CCAfrica is working closely with the government to help combat invasive weed species that are threatening the Delta's waterways. This will have far reaching impacts not only for our lodges, but also for the local people who traditionally use the Delta for fishing, reed cutting and transportation.

Natural wonderland

Ultimately, our guests come to Botswana desiring a unique experience, but not always knowing exactly what to expect. After just a few days taking in the breathtaking sunsets and swaying palms, elephants marching across the floodplains, ancient baobab trees and elusive leopards, they realise the sheer magic of this natural wonderland.

Guests laugh and joke with the people of Botswana and share stories with their guides, trackers, butlers and chefs. A connection is soon made and Botswana 's uniqueness realised. This is a beautiful country, with beautiful people.
